The Breakaway Music Festival is making a return to Columbus this year with a lineup that hip-hop and EDM fans won’t want to miss.

Prime Social Group (known for putting on Country Night Lights and #FEST) and Peerless Management have teamed up to bring Breakaway back to Columbus. The festival is set to take place on August 26-27 at the Ohio Expo Center.

Headlining Breakaway will be Dillon Francis, Rae Sremmurd, RL Grime and Young Thug. Additional acts include Desiigner, Ty Dolla $ign and Waka Flocka Flame, with more acts to come. A Saturday headliner is yet to be announced.

“We wanted the 2016 lineup to resonate with a wide audience while still connecting with our core Breakaway community,”Adam Lynn, cofounder of Prime Social Group, says. “We’re confident the lineup does just that and are looking forward to celebrating our second year with music fans nationwide.”

The last time Breakaway occurred was in 2013 with Bassnectar as the headliner. PSG has a reputation for bringing big-name talents to Ohio such as Fetty Wap and The Chainsmokers to this year’s #FEST.

Breakaway’s 2016 lineup shows a well-crafted and powerful range of Billboard
chart topping acts. Rae Sremmurd, known for singles “No Type” and “No Flex Zone,” and Young Thug, who has quickly risen through the ranks of rap music with his “Slime Season” mixtape series, top the hip-hop marquee.

Dillon Francis, whose signature Moombahton sound and quirky personality have made him one of today’s most prolific DJs, will headline Friday night. Also rounding out the electronic portion of the bill is RL Grime, who is arguably trap music’s flagship DJ/producer with his impressive catalog of singles and remixes including the recently released “Aurora.”

“This two-day festival allows us all to break away from the rigors of everyday responsibilities and enjoy an elevated experience with an expanded venue, VIP amenities and an incredible lineup,” Zach Ruben, co-founder of Prime Social Group, says.

Advanced ticketing is now on sale. Two-day general admission tickets start at $85 and two-day VIP tickets start at $150. Single-day and additional options are also available at breakawayfestival.com. This event is for ALL AGES. For the latest information, follow Breakaway on social media @BreakawayFest.
