We are two college students, Praveen Gopallawa and Chloe Graffeo, looking to bring you scrumptious recipe ideas that fuel your body with energy the right way, are affordable and can be made within the restrictions of a dorm room. Occasionally we will be bringing you recipes that can be made in a full kitchen that are still affordable, easy to make and truly delightful! We love to make savory salads and curries, luscious smoothies, sweets and energy packed snacks. A video will be coming to you every week on YouTube, so stay tuned!
This week, we made vegan doughnuts. These doughnuts are a revelation. They are not greasy, high in fat and do not leave you feeling tired after eating one … or two …. or OK, lets be honest, three because yeah, they are that delicious. You can add whatever toppings you want!
1/2 mashed banana
1 cup hot water
1/3 cup coconut oil
3/4 cup pure maple syrup
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 cups almond meal
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp baking soda
1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/3 cup coconut oil (melted)
1/3 cup coco powder (unsweetened)
6 tbsp maple syrup
shredded coconut, nuts, sprinkles, dried fruit, nut butter, cacao nibs
