Spring Semester is officially in swing (although spring couldn’t feel farther away). Take this weekend to appreciate everything Athens has to offer.

 

2nd Annual ACBDD Polar Bear Plunge

 Saturday, January 25, 10-11a.m.

Take the plunge for a good cause. Head to Lake Snowden on Saturday morning for the Athens Country Board of Developmental Disabilities’ Polar Plunge. Proceeds will go to the ACBDD’s Beacon School. Register and ledge a donation here (and remember to bring an extra change of clothes!).

 

Native American Culture in Old Ohio

 Saturday, January 25, 2-3:30p.m.

 What was life like for the first Ohioans? Patrick Quackenbush, a Hocking Hills State Park ranger and naturalist supervisor will give a free talk at the Athens Public Library on the culture, customs and daily life of Ohio’s early Indigenous people.

 

University Jazz Night

Sunday, January 26, 8p.m.

 Close out your weekend with a visit to Athens Uncorked for a night of fine wine and jazz performances by Ohio University’s faculty and students.
